Lorna Brown

‍ ‍

My career began as a painter and illustrator, and my continuing work as a horse-riding coach and animal therapist has deepened my fascination with the structure, movement and character of animals. These experiences inspire my expressive, figurative sculptures of wildlife and much-loved pets, capturing the energy and individuality of each subject.

I work with wire and mixed media, building each sculpture by hand and using an organic, weathered finish that evokes the textures of rusting metal and aged paintwork. I aim to capture a fleeting moment of movement, creating pieces that feel both alive and grounded in the natural world.

Recent exhibitions include the Society of Wildlife Artists’ annual exhibition, The Natural Eye, at the Mall Galleries in London.

I regularly undertake commissions and enjoy working with clients to create individual pieces that capture the character and spirit of their chosen animal.
